Mission School Outreach

 

Mission School Outreach Program: a highly successful program that takes American Embassy Official to Zambian high schools to discuss American culture, society and education, among other things. Above, on May 13, 2009, Cory Thomas, Assistant RSO spoke to Kamwala High School students on life as a teenager in America and other cultural aspects of life in the United states. He was in the company of IRC staff members Matldah Sakala and Joseph Ngwira

IRO Steve Perry on TDY

 

During a busy week in Lusaka (April 6-9, 2009), IRO Steve Perry worked with IRC staff members Matilda and Joseph to facilitate a webchat on the future of U.S.- Africa Relations under the Obama Administration. The chat attracted enthusiastic participation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and political science and diplomatic studies students from the University of Zambia and the Institute of Diplomatic Stadies respectively.

Mission School Outreach

 

 

St. Mary's School Outreach: Some of the students pose for a photo with Mrs. Anita  Booth, wife to U.S. Ambassador to Zambia. She was companied by  Matt Grollneck (Education Advisor) and Matilda Sakala (not in picture). The team spoke to over 500 students on issues that ranged from U.S. society, education opportunities in the U.S, and varous services offered by the Matin Luther King Memorial Library.
